Steven and Alexis Ayling decided it was time to move to a bigger home when their daughter Grace was born. However, with a three-bedroom home in Saltcoats to sell, they weren't convinced that the housing market would agree that the time was right.

Steven explained : "My wife Alexis and I started thinking about moving to a four-bedroom property after our daughter Grace was born. We went to look at the Redrow show home at the Whitehirst Grange in Kilwinning and thought it looked lovely, but did'nt want think that we would be able to sell our old home in the current climate. Linda, the sales consultant, explained about part-exchange and how it would help us move up the property ladder.

In Steven's opinion: "Part-exchange couldn't have been easier, it was absolutely brilliant. Everyone says that most stressful things are having a baby, getting married and moving house. Moving house is stressful, but this time it was'nt at all."

The couple's new home is part of the Whitehirst Grange development located in the Ayrshire town of Kilwinning. In a semi-rural setting, the development includes a collection of three and four bedroom homes. Steven and Alexis chose the Roadford house style with its spacious rooms and family friendly layout. Steven comments: "Our home features Redrow's newest specification interiors which really show how they have improved in the designs. They're more modern and the family, kitchen and dining area is cracking."

The Aylings are obviously delighted with their new home and are relishing the little touches that come with buying a new build property. "The house we were in before was two years old when we moved in and, while no house is perfect, it's the little things that make a difference, like the walls being white rather than magnolia," Steven said.

The new show home at Whitehirst Grange is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm. An offer can be made by the house builder within around 48 hours when using the Part Exchange system, provided criteria are met.
