There are many reasons why Berkshire is a great location to find a property on a new-build development - the county benefits from excellent transport links, proximity to London, lovely countryside, good employment opportunities and some high-achieving schools. With a wide choice of schemes currently underway, now is a good time to be looking for new homes in Berkshire.

Bewley Homes has a prestigious development in the village of Burghclere, just a few miles south of Newbury, offering a great semi-rural location yet within a few miles of the M4 motorway. Buyers will find a choice of property types at Newland Green with three to five bedrooms. Three-bedroom homes start at £260,000, four bedroom properties at £550,000 and five-bedroom houses at £775,000. The 'Newland Eight', a four-bedroom detached house style, has an en-suite to the master bedroom, family bathroom and fitted wardrobes to the three largest bedrooms. Downstairs, there's a full-length kitchen/dining room with utility room, plus a separate lounge, study and integral single garage.

Bewley Homes also has a choice of three-bedroom detached, link-detached and semi-detached homes in a village location at Mulberry Gardens in Mortimer, around nine miles south-west of Reading. The scheme comprises just ten homes priced from £360,000, again boasting a lovely rural setting but with excellent accessibility by road and rail. Selected plots are available with a choice of incentives including part exchange, Stamp Duty paid, free carpets and curtains or free landscaping.

Kennet Island from Berkeley Homes is a contrasting proposition, a selection of contemporary apartments and townhouses located close to Reading town centre. The last few remaining one- and two-bedroom apartments at the Rhode Square phase are priced from £143,950, while the two-, three- and four-bedroom townhouses at the latest Elba Square release are priced from £225,000. The scheme has been popular with local investors, with estimated returns of around six per cent per annum, and existing homeowners can take advantage of the Easy Move scheme to part exchange their old home for a new one at this development.

Banner Homes is offering two-bedroom, two-bathroom mansion apartments with an exceptionally high specification at Villiers House in Sunningdale. Priced from £525,000 to £700,000, these homes provide ample luxury accommodation finished to the highest standard. Sunningdale is a much sought-after location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and some of the UK's most prestigious golf courses. There are direct rail services into Waterloo that take under an hour and the M3 and M25 are close by.

House hunters have just a handful of homes to choose from at Bloor Homes' Wykery Copse development. Two three-bedroom townhouses priced from £259,950 and two five-bedroom houses costing £439,950 remain for sale at this development close to Bracknell town centre, neighbouring protected woodland. The town has great transport connections, shops and modern infrastructure and is one of the main hubs of the M4 corridor's "Silicon Valley".
